I've noticed on my Internet Explorer here at work that the Bing search engine has been updated and stuck on my toolbar. Being a pod drone I don't have the admin authority to remove this eyesore. So if ya can't beat 'em join 'em. That is, if you can find them. Bing sucks.
Now that it is forefront on my screen I am compelled to use it rather than opening a new Google search (I don't have a Google toolbar or search engine on the work brain).
OK, maybe I shuoldn't use the word compelled. That makes it look like Bing has some power of persuasion. No, it just has the ability and Microsoct pirate muscle to be the easiest and shortest means of a search. But it is not the fastest. Half of all Bing searches have resulted in opening a Google search to find exactly what I am looking for on the first page. Fancy that.
If Bing is taking over the search world then it's doing it the only way Microsoft knows how: by dumping its product on every machine it can and strangling better working products.
Here's an example. Do an Bing search for the word: Walnart
What happens? Bing does the thinking for you and corrects your spelling and searches for "Walmart"
19,300,000 results for Walmart. Wow, that's a lot! But it's not what I'm looking for. Useless.
Oh but there's a feature to search for just for results for Walnart.
Results? 538 results for Walmart.
Now do a Google search for Walnart? What do you get?
Pretty cool 'eh?

Yup, bing blows because you can't override its "helpful" settings. This is standard Microsoft. Making you unable to even get around its spell-check redirect. On Google at least you can put the search term in quotes to get the exact string you want. With bing, it's gonna tell you what it's going to search for, your own desires be damned.
Something tells me Google isn't too terrified of the Yahoo-Bing deal.
I sympathize totally with you. I never could understand this preoccupation with everything Google or Microsoft does. Thought it rather arrogant- the way they say-‘it’s the first ever search engine to do so and so’ well it is NOT! Half of the stuff they say Bing does has already been done by search engines like aafter! Take a hike, Bing!
Why would I use another search engine while Google is good, has been reliable since the 90's and is improving every week or so.
Why, Microsoft? Are you going to sell cars tomorrow? Are you going to start a hamburger restaurant franchise chain after that maybe? Fine, but please don't enforce it like Windows Search 4.0 and its whole dysfunctional beta family.
With your eternal complete make overs, complicating/moving/removing of functionality, your nagging runonce wizards and warnings, and your policy of enforcing people to follow your weird decisions you are making it easier and easier to switch to an alternative OS.
The lady who is in charge of your product line does not understand the concept 'user experience'. Get rid of her.
I'm hating Bing more every day. It's like a brick wall that I chose to climb before I give up and just open the door with Google.
i rly hate bing myself!
wen i search anything say like on youtube itll come up on bing which sucks!!!!! in my mind bings like a pedophile or a stalker dno if any of u lot agree
Bing is like a cyberstalker, where the hell did this crappy program come from and how the hell do i immunize my computer against it?
Since Bing was introduced, even if Microsoft is trying their best to force it down the throats of people in the work space, they have actually LOST search engine market share.
